Each audit records the exact statement, the source with a locator and retrieval date, a verdict class, and the timeline that settled it. Attribution is not a truth score: a claim without a measurable rule stays under review, per the publication standard.

Contradicted

Good growth stock mutual funds have historically returned 12 percent

As a statement about what investors historically earned, the 12 percent figure is contradicted by the data: the S&P 500's compounded total return from 1928 through 2025 is about 10 percent nominal, roughly 7 percent after inflation, and no mutual fund fee is included in the 11.86 percent figure. The claim mixes a true arithmetic average with the implication that it is what compounding delivers.

How a verdict is earned

Gold, red, or neutral, with a reason

Supported means the measurable claim held against the evidence on the record. Contradicted means it failed its own test. Under review means no scoring rule exists yet, and JMM says so instead of forcing a score. Every verdict page lists the evidence items that produced the call, and every audit carries a reply window.
